Free Advanced Reader Copy Sign-Up

We are building a foundational inner circle of sharp minds, deep thinkers, and truth-seekers to read our books before anyone else – for FREE.

What is an ARC Team?

An Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) team is a group of dedicated readers who receive a digital edition of the book entirely for free. In exchange, you agree to provide your honest thoughts and leave a review on Amazon, Goodreads, or other platforms once the book officially launches or afterwards before a major edit.

How it works:

  1. Apply: Fill out the quick 1-minute form below.
  2. Access: If selected, you will receive a private, direct invite link to download the book(s) via a dedicated platform such as BookSprout or BookSirens.
  3. Read & Review: Dive into the text and share your unbiased, honest feedback.

Why Join Our Free Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) Group

WiseIdiot is an independent publisher dedicated to books that help people understand the world, themselves, and the choices they make. We specialise in ideas that matter: first principles thinking, psychology, practical philosophy, and the interplay between facts and opinions. Our goal is to publish books that are clear, thoughtful, and useful and not just inspirational, but actionable.

What We Publish and Promote

We focus on a wide but coherent range of content around:

  • First Principles Thinking: Books that strip ideas down to their core and rebuild them from the ground up.
  • Psychology & Practical Philosophy: Works that explore how the mind works and how people live better, calmer, more intentional lives.
  • Living and Winning: Not just ‘success’ in the shallow sense, but living with clarity, resilience, and purpose.
  • Identity & Ideas: Books that examine who we are, how we form beliefs, and how ideas shape cultures and individuals.
  • Thoughts, Designs, and Social Structures: Explorations of how thinking, design, and social systems shape everyday life.
  • Children’s Books, Short Stories, Novels, and Novellas: Narratives that entertain, widen perspective, or quietly challenge assumptions.
  • Poems and Picture Books: Creative work that communicates deep ideas through image, rhythm, and emotion, especially for young readers.

Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly is an ARC, and is it really free?
Yes, it is completely free. ARC stands for Advanced Reader Copy or less commonly, Advance Review Copy. Publishers and authors distribute early editions of a book to a select group of readers before the official publication date. In exchange, readers provide their honest feedback. There are no hidden fees, shipping costs, or subscription requirements.

How will I receive a book?
Once your application is approved, you will be included in our ARC review group. As new books come along for review, you will receive a private invitation link to download the digital manuscript securely via our website or third-party platforms such as BookSprout or BookSirens. These websites are trusted industry platforms that safely deliver files directly to your preferred reading device.

What digital formats are available?
You can download a book in EPUB (ideal for Apple Books, Kobo, and general e-readers), PDF (great for tablets and laptops), or send it directly to your Kindle app or device with a single click.

Do I have to leave a positive review?
Absolutely not. We are looking for genuine, helpful, unbiased clarity, and this requires absolute honesty. Your review should reflect your true experience with the text. Whether you loved every chapter or found yourself wrestling with the concepts, your authentic perspective is what matters most.

What if I don’t like a book or disagree with its premise or theme?
That is entirely fair—each book comes with its own central premise or theme that be challenging to read or understand, and may push your boundaries. If you find a book isn’t for you, you can still leave an honest review explaining why and what type of readers will find the book worth their time. A well-reasoned, critical review is incredibly valuable to other potential readers.

When do I need to post my review?
We usually ask that you aim to post your review on Amazon, Goodreads, or other platforms within 30 days of receiving your copy. If it takes you more time, then you may mention your reasons when you post the review later.

How do I post my review on Amazon?
Once the book officially goes live on Amazon, you will receive an automated email reminder with a direct link to the book’s retail page. You simply click “Write a customer review,” paste your thoughts, and submit.

Do I need to include a legal disclaimer in my review?
Ideally, yes. To remain fully compliant with anti-spam and consumer protection laws (like the US FTC), your review should include a brief sentence at the beginning or end stating that you received the book early for evaluation. For example:

“I received an advance review copy of this book for free from the publisher, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.”

Can I share my ARC file with a friend?
No. The digital file you receive is a protected, pre-release manuscript under strict copyright law. It is digitally watermarked for security. If you have a friend who you think will love the book, please send them the link to this signup page so they can apply to join the ARC team themselves!

Can I be paid or compensated with gift cards for writing a review?
Absolutely not. Paid or incentivised reviews are strictly illegal under international trade guidelines (such as the US FTC) and violate the core terms of service of every major book retailer.
Amazon’s Community Guidelines are completely unyielding on this point, stating:
“We don’t allow reviews written as a form of promotion. For example, we remove reviews posted by someone with a direct or indirect financial interest in the product, or any other conflict of interest.”

If an author pays a reader or offers a financial reward for a review, Amazon’s automated detection systems will permanently ban the reader’s account and completely wipe the book from the platform.

Do platforms like Rakuten Kobo or Apple Books allow paid reviews?
No. The rules are uniform across the entire global publishing ecosystem. Kobo’s Review Policy and marketplace guidelines strictly prohibit review manipulation, paid solicitation, and commercialised feedback in order to protect consumer trust.
The only exception across all platforms is the traditional Advanced Reader Copy or Advance Review Copy (ARC) system (like what we are creating with this page), where a free copy of the book itself is provided to a reader prior to launch solely for an honest, voluntary evaluation. No cash, gift cards, or external favors can ever change hands.

If I am not getting paid, how do I benefit from joining the ARC team?
While you won’t receive financial compensation, joining our ARC team offers unique insider benefits for avid readers, deep thinkers, and truth-seekers:

  • Free Premium Access: You get an exclusive, early digital edition of a manuscript entirely for free before it ever hits the public market. You will also get priority access to future books, audiobooks, and expanded editions.
  • Shape the Conversation: Your voice matters. By leaving an early review, you close the curiosity gap for other readers and directly help a book focused on evolutionary psychology and systemic rethinking find its audience.
  • Join a Community of Sharp Minds: You become part of a curated, high-caliber team of independent thinkers who bypass superficial modern noise in favour of deep, first-principles logic.
